Moms for Antibiotic Awareness

The following options are all simple ways you can help protect our antibiotics.

Contact decision makers:

• Tell the FDA to finalize the rule that protects an important class of antibiotics.
  
  
• Urge the White House and FDA to protect human health by keeping their commitments to address the overuse of antibiotics in food animal production.
   
• Ask your representatives to co-sponsor the Preservation of Antibiotics for Medical Treatment Act (PAMTA)
  PAMTA would withdraw the routine use of seven classes of antibiotics vitally important to human health from food animal production unless animals or herds are sick with disease or unless drug companies can prove that their use does not harm human health.

• Attention PTA/PTO Members
  We have started working with numerous local, regional and state PTA chapters by attending meeting, conferences and health fairs! Email us if you are interested in learning more on how we can raise awareness in your community.

Spread the message:

• Call your principal, your representatives on the school board, and your school superintendent. Tell them that you want what Chicago's students have: meat raised without the routine use of antibiotics.   Why are you concerned about the misuse of antibiotics in food animal production? Why are antibiotics important to you and your family? Tell us through email or send a short video.
